This past Saturday was July's Creative Connection LA event. It was held at The Upper West in Santa Monica. The place was amazing. Such a cool vibe and stunning food! Donuts served in a paper bag with chocolate dipping sauce and a glass of milk for dessert...seriously...count me in! There are some amazing ladies out there and I'm so glad I got to meet a bunch of them. The room was glowing with creativity all around. Creative ladies really do make the world go round when you are a creative lady yourself. Meeting new creatives is always fun and there is never a dull moment. Its nice to have that backbone of a support system and ladies to bounce ideas off of. If you are a creative lady you must attend. Go like the Creative Connection USA Facebook Page to keep up to date with the upcoming events. I had such a great time and met some fabulous ladies! I can't wait till the August event!

Perma Smile
This morning my phone goes off with a tweet from Brienne Michelle and it says "we are published early!!!" I immediately dropped my phone and ran to my laptop, went to Green Wedding Shoes and that's when the perma smile set in. Our hard work was captured so perfectly and there it was for the world to see. My eyes started to tear up because I was so proud of the whole dream team (those darn hormones from having kids!) but I held back. No tears were shed. Then I hop onto Facebook and I see a post from Brienne that says a "national magazine wants to use one of the pics for the COVER" this is where the super perma smile sets in.
Now lets rewind to when Brienne first contacted me to be a part of this shoot. I was so excited after she told me about it I lost sleep because its all I could think about. I read the books a while ago and instantly became a Twilight fan so I was utterly thrilled. The color scheme was great. Greys, whites, hints of black and the POPS of blue. And the best part was Brienne gave me free range to do pretty much whatever I wanted. Which to a florist are the "golden words". She also said she wanted a ball structure over the table. From that stemmed what I now call my "ball cloud".
The very last image at the bottom of this page is sure to knock your socks off. We waited for the right lighting and BAM there it is. A stunning picture. Right taken right at twilight. I am still picking fox tails out of my socks but every one I pull out gives me a little smile bringing me back to this shoot. I am so honored to be a part of this shoot and to be published on Green Wedding Shoes. I am so happy to finally be able to share these pics with you. I have been waiting to blast these all over the place I am so proud of everyone. Enjoy.

Baby Pineapples
I had the opportunity to do a Hawaiian themed bar mitzvah at the Paseo Club in Valencia for a super cool family. They had aqua blue and orange linens with yellow napkins - loved the colors! Around our centerpieces we put beach sand and sea shells. Are you feeling the ocean breeze yet? I immediately thought of the baby pineapples and green anthurium I see and ogle over at the flower mart but have not yet had a reason to use them. THIS is my reason! Woo! Are you hearing the ukuleles playing in the back ground? We also got to make the candle holder for the candle lighting ceremony. I was totally excited for this because I love a challenge! It needed to hold 14 candles and stick with the Hawaiian theme. It ended up being over 6 feet long! But worked perfectly. Bree with Brienne Michelle Photography snapped some photos for me and I'm so excited to share them with you....
NOW are you feeling the ocean breeze and hearing the ukuleles in the background??? Now all we need is a mai tai! :)

Rise and Shine
This morning my alarm went off at 2 a.m. I know, that's the butt crack of dawn. BUT I'm headed to my happy place - the LA Flower Mart. Picked up our fabulous Hawaiian flowers, some supplies and headed home. I was on the 14 freeway, almost home when the sun started to rise. This was the kind of sunrise where you could feel the warmth in your soul. The kind of sunrise that lets you know today will be a good day. It was so pretty I took a photo with my cell phone from inside the car. And this is it...
So on that note I hope everyone has an AMAZING day. I know I will.

Calling all creative ladies!
Creative Connection LA Breakfast
Creative ladies getting together and sharing ideas, eating yummy treats, exchanging contact info...that's what this event is about. This was the first "networking" type of thing we were able to be a part of. It was SO much fun, we cant wait till the next one AND we were the featured florist for this months get together. AMAZING! Let me tell you Elise Ostermann is one fantastic woman, she put the whole thing together and everything flowed perfectly. The event was gorgeous thanks to Elise, The Vintage Table Co who made the tables look awesome. The Pomegranite Basket for gorgeous paper products, Kaitlyns Kupcakes for the yummy treats, and Brienne Michelle Photography who captured the whole event so perfectly. We cant wait till next months meet up! Please go and like the Creative Connection Facebook Page so you can stay up to date with the events.
